Class to be held in Napa at Seavey Vineyard on 8/16/2025

Get ready for harvest by joining Jim Duane in person for a full-day curriculum of practical winemaking. All of the instruction will be hands-on. The focus will be on critical steps for setting up fermentations for success. The class will cover:

• Grape sampling in the vineyard

• Sample processing

• Laboratory analysis and interpretation

• Fermentation management

• Critical decision-making points for white, reds, and rose wines

• Basic winery equipment

• A blending seminar of 2024 wines

On Saturday, August 10th we will start at 10AM and finish about 3:30PM. Lunch and wines will be included. I'm capping the event at ten participants so that we can stay focused. This will be useful for wine professionals, but also accessible and fun for anyone with a basic passion for winemaking. Please bring all of your winemaking questions.
